The purpose of the list is for the discussion of indie music with main focus on the UK. The term "indie" often causes great argument over what constitutes "indie" music but the purpose of the list is not to argue this point! In theory anything which is likely to be featured in the music press, such as NME and Melody Maker, is fair material. Generally, the membership of the list decide what topics are valid and fit the spirit of the list. Just follow the simple rules of netiquette to keep everybody happy.
This list may be received in either "interactive" or "digest" format. Both formats have the same messages, except the digest version has a days worth of messages compiled into one mailing. Distribution of the messages sent to the list is carried out by mailing software, but because this is a restricted list, the owner must approve every subscribe request before it is processed. This may take a couple of days. However, the unsubscribe process should be immediate.
